10 Easy Tofu Recipe Ideas (and how to prep tofu)
Rate this recipe!
INGREDIENTS
- 350 gram tofu block, extra firm, organic
- spices of choice
INSTRUCTIONS
- To start, check the tofu recipe you are making to see if extra time is required for pressing. If so you can press the tofu up to a few days in advance then store it in the refrigerator wrapped in paper towelling until ready to use.
- If you are marinating tofu, get it started first. Then prepare the other recipe ingredients so everything is ready at the same time.
- Once the tofu block is drained and pressed (if needed), your meal will be ready to enjoy in ~ 20 minutes.
NOTES
- Meal Prep: These tofu recipes are easily doubled to be enjoyed all week in lunches and dinners.
- Million Dollar Tip: Remember, don't overcook the tofu as that makes it dry and rubbery which is not good.
- Pressing Tofu: Don't press every drop of liquid out of the tofu because that makes it dry and crumbly (see my tofu 101 guide for a deep dive into tofu prep).
- Buying tofu: Choose organic, non GMO tofu if available. Find tofu in the produce section or refrigerated aisle at most grocery stores.
